About the Department
Various efforts are underway to apply artificial intelligence technology to the medical field in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. Various disease diagnosis and patient condition prediction programs based on medical data are being launched and utilized. It is necessary to continuously monitor multidimensional data on the health and disease of individual patients for the implementation of preventive, predictive, and customized medical care. This enables data-based diagnosis of diseases or prediction of patient condition deterioration and can prevent diseases or provide customized treatment. In addition, the application of artificial intelligence technology is necessary to analyze data in real-time to identify and predict the patient's condition.
The Department of Healthcare and Artificial Intelligence educates and studies how to apply data-based artificial intelligence techniques to the medical field. It meets the CUK's founding philosophy of respect for humans and vision of a global leader in life-centered education and research. It conducts research and education based on the data held by The Catholic University of Korea.
Faculty members with passion and willingness to create new fields are gathering to lead the department, and we want to expand the application of artificial intelligence techniques to various medical fields. We are conducting practical education and research that can be used for the development of digital healthcare by utilizing the medical network and big data of The Catholic University of Korea. We will continue to strive to cultivate global artificial intelligence researchers by implementing and applying the latest artificial intelligence techniques in the healthcare field, cultivating excellent convergent talents needed for digital healthcare, and contributing to the development of digital customized healthcare.
